Your Assignment!

After reading the articles assigned to you, decide which side you will support.  "YES, animals should be kept in zoos" or "NO, animals should not be kept in zoos."  The side that you choose to support is called a claim.

The paper you will be writing is an argumentative paper.  You must support your claim by using facts found in the articles. Use facts from multiple articles and quotes from the articles to support your claim.

Acknowledge the other side, the counterclaim, in your paper.  You do not need to go into great detail.

Cite where you got the evidence to support your claim.  You are not an expert, therefore, your opinion is not a fact and cannot be used in this paper.

SIRS ARTICLES: Yes. Many zoos have conservation programs that protect these animals.

SIRS ARTICLES: No. Animals Should Remain In Their Natural Habitat
