1.     Introduction to Water Crisis/Conservation Project

2.     Annotate articles:  ?s in yellow highlighter and AHAs in blue highlighter

Tuesday, February 28th:    

Activity:   1st, 2nd, and 8th Hour report to Library – Explore with IPads (Powtoons, IMovie, start creating pictures in camera roll)

Wednesday, March 1st:   

1.    Review highlighted articles – AHA moments recorded on Padlet and share

2.    Begin ‘The Aquanaut” Graphic Comic– (Groups of 2 or 3)

Thursday, March 2nd :  

1.    Log-in EasyBib with voucher

2.    Finish “The Aquanauts” Graphic Comic and complete questions / reflections

3.    Go over research - Problem and Solution (Flint, California Drought, Dry Farming, Differentiated – Woman who changed water use) – Read and search for other articles using Global Issues in Context, Science in Context, and newspapers

Friday, March 3 / Monday, March 6:

1.    Continue research and record on Google Slides (Title, Problem, Solution)

2.    Students fill out Google Slides teacher form

Tuesday, March 7:

1.    Finish Google Slide Research

2.    Begin creating IMovie PSA in groups

3.    Fill out group Google form for PSA

Wednesday 8 / March 9:

1.     First 15 - 20 minutes – Finish PSA

2.     Begin PSA presentations to class

3.     Begin Google Slide Show presentations to class if time

    5. Google Slides Template and Form

    Research for 6th Grade Water Crisis

    ·       Keep LibGuide, EasyBib, and Google Drive open at all times

    ·       EasyBib – Log-in with permanent address or type EasyBib in URL – If you put in voucher code and are seeing ads you logged in with your old account

    ·       Read 2 – 3 articles – Each time you read an article you must cite your sources in EasyBib

    ·       Take notes on notebook paper – List Problems / Solutions – Use bullets (this helps you from plagiarizing)

    ·       After research:  Highlight most significant facts

    ·       Cite your articles on EasyBib as you go!!!  If you take notes from it…cite it!

    ·       Ms. Brockus or Ms. Gojcevic must approve your notes before beginning your Google Slides

    ·       You may share the blank Google Slides link to the Teacher Turn-in Google Form at any time

    6. Google Turn In Form for PSA

    7. Science Magazine

    Science World Magazine:

    1.  In the “Keyword” search area, type the word “water”

    2.   Click on “students”

    3.  Classroom Code – “eaglesand718”

    4.  There should be a bunch of articles that you can scroll through.
